Miscellaneous poems and translations, 1794-1804.

Manuscript poems, some of them translations of passages from Horace or Aesop. They are evidently fair copies of poems written over a period of years, each of them dated at the end. Leaf 1 is a title page; leaves 2-26, numbered as pages 1-49, contain poems; leaves 27-83 are blank; leaf 84 contains a table of contents. A leaf dated 1804 is laid in. The Epitaph on Hanway (leaf 12 verso, numbered p. 24) refers to Jonas Hanway (1712-1786). The binding is contemporary mottled calf, gilt-stamped, all edges gilt, with marbled endpapers.
